I
asked God to take away my habit.
God said, No.
It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.

I
asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, No.
His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.
I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, No.
Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is
learned.

I
asked God to give me happiness.
God said, No.
I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you.
I
asked God to spare me pain.
God said, No.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to
Me.

I
asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, No.
You must grow on your own!, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I
asked God for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said, No.
I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.

I
ask God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.
God said...Ahhhh, finally you have the idea.
I
got nothing that I asked for- but everything I had hoped for;
Almost despite myself, My unspoken prayers were answered.
I am among all men most richly blessed.
Father
God, Thank You for this oh so important lesson. So many times I
want my life to run on my terms. And that usually means I want the
easy route to happiness. But Lord, You continually show me over
and over again that Your way is best. Lord Jesus, continue to
mold me so that Your Love will be the Light shining through. Teach
me Father how to TRULY love others as You love me!
I
love You Jesus ... In Your Name I Pray!
Amen

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have
kept the faith.
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord,
the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me,
but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
2 Timothy 4: 7-8
"We also rejoice in our sufferings because we know that suffering
produces perseverance;
perseverance, character; and character, hope." Romans 5: 3-4
"And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and
more in knowledge and depth of insight,
so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and
blameless until the day of Christ." Philippians
1: 9-10
