The TIMES OF refreshing

GET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER

Chosen One Outreach Ministries    Publisher Shearon Roach      www.timeofrefreshing.com       Issue No. 8     Date 05/21/03

 Scripture reading: Mathew 21:12-13

And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple,
and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer;
but ye have made it a den of thieves.

Come on its time, its past time!  You’ve put it off long enough.  So long that things are beginning to pile up.  You can’t seem to find what you are looking for, and you have no idea where you put it.  You can’t remember the last time you saw it or what it felt like.   You begin to wonder if you would recognize it if you saw it, but you know it has to be here somewhere.  What am I talking about?  I am talking about your Joy.  When was the last time it was in your life?

You have allowed the enemy to come in and fill your house, your temple with all kind of clutter.  He brought in things that weren’t meant to be in God’s temple (remember you are the temple).  After that last bad relationship you forgot to close the door and the enemy came in with doubt, anger, unforgiveness, hatred, revenge, backbiting, all kinds of ungodly things that have messed up your house.   Oh and let’s not forgot how you keep allowing him to remind you of terrible things you did in the past.   Come on get out the dust buster we’ve got some cleaning to do.

It’s A Dirty Job, But It Has To Be Done

You’ve avoided it long enough; you know it needs to be done.  You’ve stored so much hurt and anger in your house that when joy tries to come in, he is turned away.  You’ve told him that love doesn’t live here any more, and so he leaves with his head hanging down.

I know you may not feel like it but you have got to get off your butt and clean your house.  You can’t remain Young and Restless anymore, nor is thinking about being in  Another World going to make things better.  This is your house and it’s time you cleaned it.  As you sit there mad at him, the Days of Your Lives are passing you by, and you are allowing the enemy to keep you and All Your Children hanging on his every word waiting for him to call.  God sent the Holy Spirit to be your Guiding Light, but you keep to holding onto the Secret Storms of your past mistakes and the Dark Shadows of the enemy are making you forget that you only have One Life to Live. Stop watching those soaps and Get your house in order!

You see this cleaning has to be done in order to teach you to appreciate what God has blessed you with. How can He bring you that special someone, if you won’t get that mess out of your house?

No, you can’t store it in the basement, and moving it to the garage won’t help.  Don’t even think about putting it in the attic and have all that stinky stuff hanging over your head. Get rid of it!  It’s got to go!

You must give up the things you want in order for God to bless you with the things you need.
Can I say that again?
You must give up the things you want in order for God to bless you with the things you need.

You have to get rid of the pain, the anger, the fear, the frustration, the hurt, the unforgiveness, and the resentment. You must get rid of it in order for the Lord to bring you joy, peace, happiness, love, and prosperity.  You are only going to get this by cleaning out your house and filling it with whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if you fill your house with these there won’t be any room for the enemy to come in and mess it up again.

You’ve allowed your house to be unclean for too long and if you are honest with yourself, you allowed it because at certain times it made you feel good.  Well, ladies I told you there is more to life than that.  Get your house in order!

It’s time to face what you have been dreading most, open up that door and put the devil out! Tell him he can’t live here anymore.  Tell him that God has created a clean heart in you and renewed your spirit

Psalm 51:10  Create in me a clean heart, O God;
and renew a right spirit within me.

Put the devil out! Get out your dust buster (devil buster) and suck all those bad thoughts out of your life.  And when you finish, don’t leave the bag in the devil buster, empty it bag outside in the dumpster when you finish.  Put him out!!! Let him know there is no room for him at your house.

Let him know that you aren’t going to take it anymore.  No more reminding you of your past mistakes.  No more making me feel like I am not worthy of a good relationship.  No more abusing me in front of my friends.  No more coming home when you get ready.  No more crying in the midnight hours because you haven’t called.  No more trying to get even with the person who took him away (if they took him, you never had him).  No more using the kids to get even with him.  No more threatening to call child support if he doesn’t do what you want (if it’s his child he should be paying it anyway).  No more devil.  I am getting this house in order!

Have a garage sale and charged the enemy with interest for everything that he has taken from your house.  Don’t hold onto anything that is not of God for sentimental reason.

Get your house in order!

It’s time to get you house in order.  Do what the Lord did take a whip and chase the enemy out of your house. Tell him as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. Get your house in order!

And when you do that God will say to you…. Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.  (Mathew 25:23)

COME ON LADIES……..

GET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER!!

You Put The Devil Out
But You Let Him Leave His Bags!!!

You got out of a bad relationship because it was bad, but you are still resentful, and angry.
(You let the devil leave his bags)

You got out of financial debt, but you still can't control the desire to spend on frivolous things.
(You let the devil leave his bags)

You got out of a bad habit or addiction, but you still long to try it just one more time.
(You let the devil leave his bags)

You said, I forgive you, but you can't seem to forget and have peace with that person.
(You let the devil leave his bags)

You told your mate that it was over, but you still continue to let him call.
(You let the devil leave his bags)

You got out of that horribly oppressive job, but you're still trying to sabotage the company after you've left.
(You let the devil leave his bags)

You cut off the affair with that married man/woman, but you still lust after him/her.
(You let the devil leave his bags)

You broke off your relationship with that hurtful, abusive person,
but you are suspicious and distrusting of every new person you meet.
(You let the devil leave his bags)

You decided to let go of the past hurts from growing up in an unstable family environment,
yet you believe you are unworthy of love from others and you refuse to get attached to anyone.
(You let the devil leave his bags)

WHEN YOU PUT THE DEVIL OUT;
MAKE SURE HE TAKES HIS BAGS, TOO!!

GET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER!

Somebody Said:

Somebody said it takes about six weeks to get back to normal after you've had a baby.
Somebody doesn't know that once you're a mother, "normal", is history.

Somebody said you learn how to be a mother by instinct ...
somebody never took a three-year-old shopping.

Somebody said being a mother is boring.
Somebody never rode in a car driven by a teenager with a driver's permit.

Somebody said if you're a "good" mother, your child will "turn out good"...
somebody thinks a child comes with directions and a guarantee.

Somebody said "good" mothers never raise their voices ...
Somebody never came out the back door just in time to see her child hit a
golf ball through the neighbor's kitchen window.

Somebody said you don't need an education to be a mother ...
somebody never helped a fourth grader with his math.

Somebody said you can't love the fifth child, as much as you love the first ...
Somebody doesn't have five children.

Somebody said a mother can find all the answers to her child-rearing questions in the books.
Somebody never had a child stuff beans up his nose or in his ears.

Somebody said the hardest part of being a mother is labor and delivery ...
Somebody never watched her "baby" get on the bus for the first day of kindergarten ...
or on a plane headed for military "boot camp"

Somebody said a mother can do her job with her eyes closed and one hand tied behind her back.
Somebody never organized seven giggling Brownies to sell cookies.

Somebody said a mother can stop worrying after her child gets married ...
Somebody doesn't know that marriage adds a new son or daughter-in-law to a mother's heartstrings.

Somebody said a mother's job is done when her last child leaves home ...
Somebody never had grandchildren.

Somebody said your mother knows you love her, so you don't need to tell her....
Somebody isn't a mother.

What Do Women Really Want

Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighboring kingdom.  The monarch could have killed him but was moved by Arthur's youth and ideals.  So the monarch offered him freedom, as long as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to figure out the answer; if after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to death.

The question: What do women really want?

Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man, and to young Arthur, it seemed an impossible query. But since it was better than death, he accepted the monarch's proposition to have an answer by year's end. He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everybody: the princess, the priests, the wise men, and the court jester.

He spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer.  Many people advised him to consult the old witch, only she would know the answer. The price would be high; the witch was famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged.

The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no alternative but to talk to the witch.  She agreed to answer his question, but he'd have to accept her price first: The old witch wanted to marry Gawain, the most noble of the Knights of the Round Table and Arthur's closest friend!

Young Arthur was horrified.  She was hunchbacked and hideous, had only one tooth, smelled like sewage, made obscene noises, etc.  He had never encountered such a repugnant creature. He refused to force his friend to marry her and have to endure such a burden.

Gawain, upon learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur. He told him that nothing was too big a sacrifice compared to Arthur's life and the preservation of the Round Table. Hence, their wedding was proclaimed, and the witch answered Arthur's question thus:

What a woman really wants is to be in charge of her own life.

Everyone instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great truth and that Arthur's life would be spared. And so it was. The neighboring monarch granted Arthur total freedom.

What a wedding Gawain and the witch had!

Arthur was torn between relief and anguish.  Gawain was proper as always, gentle and courteous.  The old witch put her worst manners on display, and generally made everyone very uncomfortable.

The honeymoon hour approached.  Gawain, steeling himself for a horrific experience, entered the bedroom.  But what a sight awaited him!  The most beautiful woman he'd ever seen lay before him! The astounded Gawain asked what had happened.  The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she'd appeared as a witch, she would henceforth be her horrible, deformed self half the time, and the other half, she would be her beautiful maiden self.

Which would he want her to be during the day, and which during the night? What a cruel question! Gawain pondered his predicament.  During the day, a beautiful woman to show off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his home, an old witch? Or would he prefer having by day a hideous witch, but by night a beautiful woman with whom to enjoy many intimate moments?

What would you do?

What Gawain chose follows below, but don't read it until you've made your own choice.

Make YOUR choice BEFORE you read Gawain's answer

Noble Gawain replied that he would let her choose for herself.  Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life.

What is the moral of this story?

The moral is: If a woman doesn't get her way, things are going to get ugly
