HOW TO CHASE OFF THE ENEMY!

Several years ago, when I was in ministry school at Dove International, I meant an older woman who was also attending the classes. She seemed to have a confidence that exuded from her, quietly but in profound ways. She caught my attention immediately during class registration and I was quite pleased to find myself seated next to her in the seating assignment for classes.


It did not take long to strike a conversation and exchange purposes for being in these classes. Immediately I was impressed with her purposes and her daily agenda of ministry. Taking for granted that this was a woman who had been ordained into ministry and was now adding the present classes to gain knowledge for a specific area of ministry, I began to inquired where she pastured a church. She took a few seconds before answering me, musing my question then smiled and began to tell me about herself.


She had been ministering for many years thru out the area, where ever God sent her! She told of working in the area of deliverances and related several experiences she found herself in during that time. I found her to be an exciting woman to listen to and I knew she was a wealth of knowledge in many areas of ministry. I could have listened for hours!


Soon the conversation was turned more towards the present and what she was doing now! Then I learned some very impressive things about this woman and her walk with the Lord.

She was NOT an ordained minister---she laughed in telling me this as she added that when she was a young woman, to have pursued an education and a role as an ordained minister, she would have been denied the great privilege for certain. She knew her calling was of the Lord so she had simply asked that He ordain her as HIS VESSEL according to Isa.61.

Surely the LORD answered her request for she had served in many areas of ministry. Then she told me of a 'commitment' she made to the LORD several years prior and that He had never failed to answer that request ---on a daily basis. Burdened for lost souls, she had petitioned the LORD to use her to bring the lost to Him....asking the LORD to send her "just one" each day that she could tell about Him and how He loved them.

God answered that prayer for her and for many years now, He sent ONE person to her each day to tell of His love (many times there were more than one BUT NEVER LESS THAN ONE). She had many stories of the countless ways God would put her in particular places and arrange for her to meet the one He had chosen for her to talk to!

Amazingly , this woman had not had ONE SINGLE DAY IN SEVERAL YEARS THAT SHE HAD NOT SHARED THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST WITH SOMEONE GOD SENT TO HER! Most all were won to Christ!


My mind was doing calculations like crazy at this point --trying to grasp a figure ...a number of souls led out from the gates hell by this little woman so committed to the LORD she loved. And then, try for one minute, to consider the fall out of her efforts--everyone she led to Him and then all the lives THAT ONE would also touch ----all written down in GOD'S book and added to her account! It was mind staggering to try to comprehend the impact for Christ this woman had accredited to her account!


Presently, He was sending her to many hospitals to minister the Gospel to the lost there. Her agenda and calling had not changed --just the area He sent her to! Recently she had been honored by one of the hospitals and given the status of Hospital CHAPLAIN !!! She had finally been ordained by man for what GOD HAD ORDAINED HER FOR MANY, MANY YEARS PRIOR!

She smiled as she told me of this ordination, it was clear to see, that THIS one meant little to her in title ------

SHE HAD KNOWN FOR YEARS "WHO" SHE WAS AND KNEW HER CALLING AND WALKED IN IT LONG BEFORE MAN ACKNOWLEDGED IT---- SHE KNEW HER LORD HAD LONG AGO "GIVEN HER THE ANOINTING AND THE APPOINTMENT " HE WANTED HER TO HAVE!


What was the "confidence" she exuded ?

She KNEW her God!

She walked in obedience to His call!

She was doing what He had gifted her to do!

She was "free" of pleasing man --only sought to please her LORD!

She was full of the Christ she preached!

She was a woman who was happy in what she was doing!

Her "confidence" was the Lord Jesus in her as she walked daily in HIS presence!

SHE IMPACTED LIVES - LIKE THE ONE SHE PLACED HER CONFIDENCE IN!  JESUS!


P.S. How did she handle the 'enemy' and chase him off? Every time he came near her---she would tell him----"o.k. Devil... If you're going to bother me ---TODAY I AM GOING OUT AND FIND TEN TO TELL ABOUT JESUS!! "

She smiled at me saying---"ya know, he really don't bother me much".
